Hepatitis C diagnostic tests to be manufactured in Morocco

MAScIR announced the forthcoming launch of Hepatitis C diagnostic tests designed in Morocco, after the successful market release of its COVID-19 PCR tests.

MAScIR announced on Tuesday 21 September the forthcoming launch of Hepatitis C diagnostic tests designed in Morocco. The Foundation will hold a webinar at the end of the week to present the validation process behind the tests and what they represent for the country.

"Drawing on around ten years of experience in developing molecular diagnostic kits, and following the successful market release of its COVID-19 PCR tests," the MAScIR Foundation — a research and development institution — will bring the Hepatitis C diagnostic tests to market through its spin-off Moldiag.

Local manufacture of diagnostics matters beyond national pride: it shortens supply chains, reduces currency exposure, and gives a country the ability to scale testing without waiting on imports.
